I lie in bed, sleeping, yet awake.  I can see my dog staring at me from the mattress on the floor next to the TV stand.  She looks confused, wondering if something about me has changed.  As I look around the room, I notice it is the room itself, that has changed.  It’s longer and wider than it should be, plus, there’s a keyboard within the center I don’t remember putting there.

“Dreaming.” I say out loud to myself.  “I’m dreaming.”

I then stand up and take a step past the dog and towards the wall.  Now standing in front of the wall, I place both my hands upon its surface.  The first thing I notice are the sounds from the backyard.  Like in waking life, I can hear the distorted bird chirps and rattling leaves bounce off the wall into my ears.

With both hands still pressed against the cold latex-covered surface, I take one last look towards the white fluff ball as she continues watching me, waiting for what’s to come.

I take a deep breath, then push my hands harder upon the wall.  In disbelief, they penetrate its surface and disappear into the unknown.  I can feel a warm vibration reaching into my arms as my eyes widen in disbelief.

With both hands now several inches in the wall, I take one final look at the dog, watching her tilt her head towards the side, as if doing so will help her understand what’s taking place.

That’s when it hits me.

“I’m dreaming.  What happens if…”

The thought is frightening, but is something I needed to explore.  Yes, need, that’s the word.  I need to know what happens if my entire body is placed within the wall.

I take a big, deep, breath of air, then place my head closer to the wall.  Now, both of my arms are almost completely engulfed within the wall’s surface.  The noise from outside echos closer as the distance between my face and the wall became one.

Slowly, I push my face into the wall up to my ears.  The first thing I see is red.  Nothing more, than a dull, glowing, red.

With a final rush of courage, I push deeper until my ears are one with the wall.  The vibrations become more intense as I begin to hear something familiar.  Something that wasn’t present within the dream.

A fan.

I had almost forgotten that I sleep with a fan. No matter the season.  And here it is, sharing the space within my head that the vibrations were now occupying.

But my vision has not regained itself.  Now, it is my hearing that is coming to.  But the dull red that shades my eyesight is still in charge.

“I need to push a bit further,” I think to myself.

And I did.

What I noticed next would change my life forever.

Just before my eyes, is the room in its natural state.  Walls where they should be, dog sleeping on the mattress on the floor, and, in complete disbelief, a pair of ghost arms penetrating outward from my physical arms.  I then pull my head back just a bit, and I’m now standing, once again, at the wall with my arms halfway through it.  The dog, awake, staring at me.

One last push, and I’m free from my body, watching it sleep…

REFLECTION

This, in all its detail (minus some I’m sure) is a true story.  If you’ve ever had a conscious dream, or an out-of-body experience, you can recognize my truth.  If not, then this will just be another story for you and your ego to believe in via faith, or disregard through doubt.

Lastly, although my memory continues to age with my body, the actual date of this experience alludes me.  However, it was February 7th, 1998 that I was brought back from atheism to finally realizing the potentials of a far greater experience than I would ever believe this lifetime would offer.

It was on that date, nineteen years ago today, which I had my first conscious dream.

And for that, I am grateful.

Yup! For me it was always getting beyond the strange vibrations that came within that transitional moment.
They felt like two separate frequencies, that somehow could never fit within each others waveform. In other words, their overtone harmonics never matched up. This further drove home the point for me that I was dealing with at least two different realities, now superimposed upon one another. Realizing also in that instant, I now had choices. Choices that were not even a part of my consciousness before.

The other strange thing that I noticed as a result of many journeys out and back in, was the time differences that occurred. It brought a new understanding to me about the instantaneous nature of things.

Absolutely. In my original post, I had explained what the “dull-red color” was. In fact, it was my eyelids that i was seeing as I pushed through the wall. Hence, the wall being a presentation of my body.
Upon further exploration, what you’re saying is a great example. That there’s two variations we’re experiencing at once.
I believe I talked about this in “The Shift” ebook that came with Sleep Cell. I’ll have to someday get organized so I know what’s what. 🙂

Adam, I do remember that from “The Shift.” The whole experience is such a cool thing in general.
I really wish that everyone would get to experience either conscious dreaming or OBEs, because they are both amazing game changers. What at first seems spooky and unsettling about the experience, quickly goes away. Once you get familiar with the sequence of events, it’s as if a whole new world opens up for you. A world that seems both completely natural as well as giving you that certain spiritual something that we always seem to be in search of.

I have often wondered about, and desired to experiment with others, by attempting to have planned group OBEs or conscious dreams. Maybe this is something that you could speak to at some point.

I agree completely. The fear diminishes with experience. This allows even darker explorations to go un-hitched to the ego which, to me, allows a greater and deeper level of understanding.
Eventually, we get to a “there’s no way my brain is making this up” phase.
As for group explorations and experiments….funny you mention that.
Tesserean.com will have just these things in place when it opens!

    Adam,

I had some out of body experiences as a young child and each of them was different, but yet the same, I would awaken when my arms hit my mattress from coming back into my body…OMG…what a trip!!! Your Guardian Angel is overseeing these experiences for you as a writer, and also in life….you are being protected…so NEVER EVER fear what you go through…

    • Adam King

So very cool Linda! Yes, I remember some of the “coming up from underneath the mattress” experiences as well!

Bill suggests I do a talk and/or program about this in the future. I agree. I think there’s SO much more that we can share with each other!

Adam thank you for sharing i believe it without any doubt as i had my own experience almost 7 years ago now i thought i was loosing my mind .

    Love and light

    Looking foreard to march

    • Adam King

Vass, trust me, I get that. I remember seeing a psychiatrist after all of this happened. I believe I shared that story a while book.

Once we open the new community I’ll begin doing live calls again so we can discuss these things more deeply.

      Thank you for sharing yourself.

    I had the opposite experiences.
I could not stay grounded in my body but did not know that was what was taking place.

I went to monroe imstitue for 2 weeks and discovered that i was already out of my body.

Childhood experiences can create this in our lives.

    Amazing description, adam—

Sometimes i suddenly realize that i am looking at the red in my eyes from outside of my body and i pull myself back in.

  5. Terri

I like the dog taking part n your experience

For me, i find that i am looking at the red in my eyes and realize that i am out of my body again.

For many of us, childhood experiences kept us outside of our body as a protective measure. We slip, out easily.

I went to monroe institute in the 90’s and discovered i was out of my body already,

I had to learn to anchor within my body.

Now, i know how to enter parallel realites and live within other lives and relationships which can impinge on this current now.

For me, Tessera is really a parallel reality that u are bringing into present time .

Looking forward to the next step and adventures with u, adam.

    Thanks

what a great story—this is how—years ago—many books and seminars taught people to leave their body—one hand or arm or leg at a time.

i remember many times seeing the red of my eyes and wondering what was going on with my brain.

i was more out of my body than in my body for most of my life. Childhood experiences can contribute to this ability.

I went to Monroe institute in the early 90s to learn how to get out of my body and realized i already was out—i needed to learn to ground myself in my body.

looking forward to experiencing more and more as we group together and move into a more expanded state of BEINGNESS.
