The Distance (First Take guitar series)

on

The first take series has been such a huge success, I thought I’d start another one.

This time, it’s based on guitar instead of piano.  (if you want piano here’s First Take Beautiful Morning)

This music includes warm guitars (one take), but there’s also added instruments and environmental atmospherics.  This way it stays “warm and comfortable” for the times we need it the most.

Once I produce enough of these I’ll release an album.

Here’s the first one.
Enjoy,
Adam

Adam that’s GORGEOUS!! My gosh I don’t know how you do it — keep touching parts of my being with your music that I never even imagined were there – This is beyond-beautiful. Thank you so much…. SO much….. (wow)

How delightfully relaxing and peaceful. Listening to this song at the end of a high energy day that started with way too little sleep and has ended with intense pain. The very first notes began to melt the pain and every bit of tense right out of me. Like being submerged into a warm fluffy comforter with lots of pillows. After totally enjoying soaking up all that relaxation and marveling at how the effect is so instant and thorough in your music, I tried to associate the title to the peacefulness. Every physical, emotional and spiritual sensation feels like its right here, right now, and nothing else matters. Perhaps, the distance is meant to be for everything else while me and my fluffy comforter with piles of pillows just snuggle up right here and enjoy the here and now. Soooo… soooooo peaceful and relaxing. All of that flowing out of you in beautiful perfection just by thinking it, feeling it, and applying your hands to instruments. What a wonderfully skilled talent, Adam. Thank you for sharing with us the intimacy of your first concept and experience of a song. It is an honor to have your trust to be so vulnerable. Thank you so much for your gift of this less painful and relaxed evening!

What a beautiful reflection Angela. I’m so glad you share them here on the site too. I for one can relate (separate from my work) as a fellow human. In other words, it’s fun to see your own work through the reflection of others. This allows you to play with the novelty of it all as a witness, instead of through the critical eyes of a composer.

      Just cool stuff. 🙂

If anyone should have the full pleasure of a creative work it is the artist that creates it. Doesn’t that say something about us humans that we have such a hard time seeing our own value and the beauty of our own creativity? I’m so glad I can reflect back to you something of which you crate! Thank you.

Yes, I agree. But there’s always a different relationship between the thing created and the perspective of seeing it for the first time without the muddiness of remembering all the background that goes with the creation. And don’t get me wrong, both perspectives have a beautiful frame to them. Just different. In fact, the more I think about it, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Wow… I love the new sound, in Unraveled Distance. I might have to do some meditating to this. So beautiful!! It takes me to a place inside, yet outside of myself. Truly magical. thank you for sharing it.
