The Path

on

It’s been a very long time since I’ve shared a full song.  So, here you go.

The Path was created as I learned the new studio.  I still don’t feel like I’m quite there, but this is still a good example of the power I now have access to.

The song is almost 60 full tracks (instruments) of Orchestra.  It has pushed the absolute limits of my new PC (which isn’t said lightly).

The inspiration behind The Path was like staring at a blank page, there were no intended outcomes prior to going in.  Although, the second the violins start playing in the beginning, I knew I had something special.

There are more than a dozen finished versions of this song too, simply because mastering it was an incredible challenge.  In fact, I still don’t consider it mastered near to its potential.  This is something that will be worked on in the future as I create new music.

The most important thing for me now is that I can share it.  My ears have been far over-exposed to it, so now it’s your turn.

Feel free to share this post with your friends on facebook, twitter, etc, and leave comments (if you wish) below.

There will be a lot more of this heading your way.

Warmly,
Adam
PS the woman in the picture is a warrior.  Because of the photo editing you can no longer see the sword she has in her hand. (See image below the player)

Here’s the original picture of the woman in the header.

That track The Path is amazing astounding!

    I am speechless
    Hugs

I’m so glad you enjoyed it Thea. And yes, I’ve done soundtracks before. But I’m leaving this stuff for us and Tessera. 😉
      Hugs back at ya.

    Hey Adam,
I sent you an email, but this deserves another mention. It’s pretty early here in fact I’m usually not up this early. But I had to listen to The Path again before starting the day. It’s a spectacular gift you’re sharing with the world…and I hope the world gets to hear it. I plan on sending it out to folks I know who would appreciate it. Keep up the great work. Your music speaks to the inner feelings, the rhythms and routines of the universe is magical, mystical ways. Thanks again.

Thank you so much Will. I knew this one would be right with you. Brought a smile on my face (and Jen’s) to see your comment. 😉

It seems to add a whole new dimension to the range of sounds you can create with the new equipment. Is the voice of the woman virtual too? That will really surprise me.

    • Adam King

      Thank you William.
Actually, none of this piece uses synthetic (digitally made from scratch) instruments, but true orchestra and real voices turned into instruments. (this may be what you meant anyway. If so, then yes.)
The voices are from heavyocity “vocalise 2”.
The studio sounds are from a variety of real orchestra recordings from East/West studios, Komplete, New York and Germany philharmonic orchestras, heavyocity (Novo, Vocalise, Master Session Drums, scoring guitars, and Kirk Hunter strings. East/West is mostly the horns and solo violin. Every single note was recorded by myself using these instruments.
The song consists of 26 channels (instrument layers) with an average 4-5 tracks per channel. (for example, the violin in the beginning is actually two violins. The piano that begins after the harp is actually 5 different tracks layered upon each other. East/West piano, Novo strings, scoring guitars, Kirk Hunter strings, etc, all in one track.) I say the song is over 50 tracks, but it could actually be closer to 100. I’ll have to check some day. 😉

My WHOLE BODY salutes your amazing work, Adam! I kid you not! I get the most amazing vibrations in my feet and legs when your songs are great. My heart and soul feel like they sing along. It is so beautiful to experience. But…. this song…this INCREDIBLE composition sends huge strong vibrations through my whole body starting with the very first notes!!! It is as if my body cannot contain the whole wonder of it and there are little muscle twitches all through my feet and legs!!! In the first minute my breath was swept up and away. Oh dear goodness!! I definitely agree that this is the biggest song you’ve done. Even as I write this note, the vibrations are continuing which I don’t think has ever happened before. Such a powerful movement!!!

I’m listening on an old cheap Logitech head set hooked up to my desktop computer. I can only imagine what this sounds like on a quality system. WOW!!!
Thank you for sharing such an amazing experience. I’ll let you know when I come down off the mountain 🙂 goodness!!

    • Adam King

That’s so very cool Angela. And, I totally get what you’re saying. Not to many ask how I’m effected by these types of pieces, but it’s a very similar experience. When you’re with it for three days solid, it can be very exhausting too. But, listening to it after it’s been released for a few days with fresh ears is certainly a payoff.
      I’ll keep these coming!

      • Angela

Just can’t get enough of this song!! Each time I listen, the vibrations just go crazy. Three days straight of it, seems… like… I would go into overload I think! No wonder you work it all out at once Adam. That much vibration would be intensely irritating if it was cooped up inside and not given an outlet.

It is interesting to read how people react to this song on an emotional level as well as physical level. It is clearly very powerful in both senses. I also found it interesting that you chose a warrior for the photograph. I believe I’ve heard you say something like you think you have discovered the energy behind emotions. I began wondering if the “blank page” you started with is reflecting back to you your mood at the time or if it is your vision of the future. If it is your vision of the future… I’d say it is time to “run with it!”

“The Path” feels like confidence and strength to me mixed with lots of motion and drive. Something about it feels more than the strength of the individual. I found in the slower, quieter moments of the song, a feeling of satisfaction, perhaps even a feeling of accomplishment at the end. At the first quiet moment, I saw in my mind’s eye a nod of approval and acknowledgement from one person to another. There was a smile and the look of “knowing”. I wonder what emotions you find in the energies.

        • Adam King

This response gave me the chills. Yes, I think you nailed it. I believe everything about the experience, especially the picture, came from a very specific place within me wanting to call out. So yes, I think you’re totally on point.

As a side note (to prove your instincts even more), I have decide to do an entire album like this with “The Path” as the main song. So “The Path” is the name of my next album!

Thank you for all of the support, validation, and confidence to keep this journey carving out its own path! (pun intended.) 😉

  5. Katherine Lia

Adam you never cease to amaze me with your expansive talents and abilities. I always love to go to those places your music seems to take me every time! Thank you again for sharing this with us.

    • Adam King

Thank you so much Katherine. The response to this song has proved there’s much more room for this kind of energy within my work. This is good timing as well since I’ve been in the studio working on the new “Locus” project.
Super excited to see how it all turns out!

  6. Richard J Brubaker

    Adam
I have been Following your Work for many years and I must say you never fail to amaze me with your talent for composing music, This has to be one of my favorites of many that you have composed.
    Thank you for sharing

    • Adam King

      Richard,
That means the world to me. There’s so many people out there spending time to create music like this without an outlet. I’m so grateful to have all of what we’ve built together. To know this song is more than just a song … boy, don’t have the words to finish that sentence.
Just super grateful for all of you.

  7. Monika

Thank you so much Adam for sharing this wonderful piece of music! As I listened to it I was following the path, deeply touched by it. I followed the calling along the path, sometimes flying over it, seeing lots of people doing the same. Part of it I walked alone, sometimes with others, sometimes fast then slowing down then fast again . I was kind of sad when the music ended as I could have been walking for ever. Thank you again for this experience. Waiting for more 🙂 big hug

    • Adam King

That’s so cool to read this Monika. You know, this song has four different endings and three different beginnings. So yes, I totally get what you’re saying. 🙂
      Cool stuff!

  8. Beth

After a long 11 hour day away from home, I was so ready to listen to this fantastic creative work of art. I felt so moved at times during the piece to tears and then emotions of triumph. The voices encourages me onward and my imagination took over leading me down a path to somewhere special. I was sad at the end and had to listen to it again. You have a gift beyond words to move the soul. Thank you for sharing .

    • Adam King

Thank you so much Beth. I can relate too. The first time I listened to it outside of the studio I was driving to the grocery store at night. Just the feel of it in the car was so different that it energized me. Boy, what a wonderful experience we’re sharing here. I couldn’t have asked for more.

  9. Pam Ross

Adam…brilliant! A full philharmonic orchestra can blow your mind & take you on a ride to anywhere and that’s exactly what you have accomplished. Totally agree with Angela…your music moves me not only physically but emotionally & spiritually. WOW!

    • Adam King

Thank you Pam! Can’t wait to do more of these for you!

  10. Michael Frost

    Dear Adam,
WOW – and I’m still shaking after listing 🙂 What a gift you got to express our – human – feelings/conditions of hope and unity in your music …..
Thank you so much for all your work/music to make the world a better place for us all!!!
Greatings from Michael – Copenhagen, Denmark.

PS: Any plans of concerts/events? If so, give me a note – I´l be glad to arrange a tour to Denmark 🙂

    • Adam King

      Michael,
My wife would sure love that! She had a Danish exchange student live with her when she was in high school. She (the exchange student) lives in Copenhagen. Someday we’d like to visit, but in the meantime I’m keeping myself in the studio so I can continue building Tesserean experiences for us.
So cool to see this comment. Jen is sitting next to me right now smiling. 🙂

  11. Paula

    Awesome. What are the possibilities?

    • Adam King

      That…is a good question. 😉

  12. Denise

    • Adam King

Thank you so much Denise! There’s an email going out on Friday (Dec 22nd) about this song.
