This Side of Heaven
The following short story is based on the experiences of Jack Fletcher from the upcoming book “Without the Water”. The song “Forever my Love”, was inspired by this scene within the story.

It had been almost three years since she passed. She was his entire world. His love, his life, and the missing link that brought him to the doors of another world. But now, as he stood in front of the roaring ocean, he reflected upon his journey over the last three months. The island that shouldn’t have been, the hidden paradise swallowed by the Earth. And now, the promise of a future left unexamined if it weren’t for his patient Andrea.
So many questions had been answered, so many promises had been kept, and so many possibilities were to come.
As he stood within the ocean’s mist, an energy embraced him he had not felt since his first steps upon Tessera’s soil. It was a feeling of oneness, completeness, and irrefutable hope.
He closed his eyes as he placed the bouquet of roses upon the rock.
“Forever my love.” he said with a whisper.
For it was the very next wave that claimed his beautiful gift to the sea. And with it, the truth of a world no longer confined by mortality.

My father-in-law, 90, was transferred to a hospice facility the day I received this song. He died yesterday, 2/3. This song has kept me grounded in a way that, as a Tesserean, I can only describe with Jack Fletcher’s own words “As he stood within the ocean’s mist, an energy embraced him he had not felt since his first steps upon Tessera’s soil.”
For over 4 years, you always seem to meet me where I am. I am forever grateful for meeting you. Thank you for introducing me to Tessera and “the truth of a world no longer confined by mortality.”

Lil tears and tingles all over listening to this new song, Adam. It is so beautiful. When your songs come with a story I like to set aside special time to really listen to find the imagery of the story amidst the vibrations of the song. I expected to feel the powerful rushing waves of the ocean. Instead I feel the sense of a life time of adventure and shared soul experience with the beauty of the melody so sweet and enduring.
