A Gift from Will
On January 11th a very dear friend of mine and very well-liked fellow Tesserean, (Will) lost his wife.
Many of you may not know him, but Will has contributed to all of us through TEG (The Tessera Essential Gathering Group), many emails, supportive comments and of course, the joint venture project we did last year called “Rise Above the Challenge“. (See the very bottom of this page.)
On January 11th, I received the following email from Will.
Now, before you read this, grab your Kleenex. But more importantly, know that there is a message here that must be heard.
A message not just for the bereaved, but for everyone with the conscious effort to show affection for those they love.
Without a doubt, this a gift from Will as he had the courage to share it with me. (As well as allow me to share it with you.)
Both figuratively and physically, this is a true gift from someone who continues to leave their mark on my life.

This is a post I never wanted to post, nor did I think I would have to for a while…but after five years of battling a broken wrist, breast cancer (which she conquered), Parkinson’s disease and lewy body dementia, my ace good buddy Virgina took her last breath yesterday and joined her angels on the “other side.”
She’s at peace. Her angels are giving her high fives! It’s like the celebration we have when a newborn arrives. They’re celebrating on the other side as we weep here…I’m so lucky I was part of her experience. I probably learned more about real love as I was taking care of her in the final years and days.
To my younger followers I suggest, just for a moment, put the cell phones down and call your grandmother if she’s around. But before you do, take a moment to think about what she has meant to you…how has she helped you and let her know how much you appreciate her for the very lesson she taught you. You have no idea what that would mean to her…and if you have a granddad around…do the same thing for him…and don’t be surprised if you see a few tears. We need to take a little more time to appreciate the folks who have come before us…not just for them but for you too! And for all my friends, and there are fortunately so many of you, I really appreciate your concern, your questions about Virginia and your interest in how I’m doing as well.

Rise Above The Challenge

The Story Behind Rise Above the Challenge (Taken from the Tessera Studio Site December 2014)
This, is incredibly special. Not only a gift for you, but one for a fellow Tesserean (Will Hamilton) as well as myself.
The story.
A couple of weeks ago, a Tessera (and TEG) member many of us know named Will, sent me an email with a poem.
This poem, as he says, was inspired while listening to my album Bliss.
After reading the poem, and knowing the true heart and soul behind Will’s writing, I knew I had to do something more than just offer a quick thank you.
So, I decided to turn the poem into an inspirational meditation and score it.
Then, to take things one step further, I decided to ask my wife Jennifer to do the voice work.

For everyone and anyone going through any kind of hard time, please know, you are not alone.

My grandmother is still with us, and I remind her often how much she means to me, and then she forgets and I remind her again. I wish to acknowledge your open heart.
This is not easy to keep clean and clear in this world full of illusion, pain, struggle, sorrow.
Your giving nature inspires me to be giving too, to continue on my path to bring unconditional love, fierce protection and support to the darkest reaches of the universe.
Your angels are clapping too. Applauding you for your determination to share and connect humanity. Applauding you for being there to show your dear Virginia that there is true love in all places and times.
She will now be capable of restoring others in her own way.

Thank you so much for sharing this. We here in Tessera support you. But most of all, know that you are a magnificent being. Remember the jewels of your experience with this wise one who passes! Remember the rituals, the conversations, the sage advice, the comforting words, (even sometimes observance of their actions). This will bring comfort to your heart.
Rise above the challenges of death to remember the Light that you are and your interconnections to ALL that is!!!! You are loved and embraced in this physical world by Tesseraians that have not yet met you, but share your burden. My wife and I were very much aware of the simple truth “I am a soul with a body, not a body with a soul.” It has been a comforting message for you as we’ve gone through the celebration of her life and her transition into the spiritual realm.
