Journey

on

Update: Will Hamilton wrote a poem inspired by Journey.  (See very bottom) Thank you Will!

It’s been so long since I’ve shared this.

This was originally posted on Living Tessera.

A few years ago PSN (Playstation) released one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever seen.

Journey.

Journey is a multi-player game, which its sole purpose is to “go into the light”.

I can’t even describe the beauty of this game, so I’ll let the youtube videos below do it for me.

Anyway, after playing this game, I was inspired to create a song (which is on the Bliss Album) called “Journey”.

This is my original work, of course, but it mimics my experience from the game, as well as some of the music from the amazing composer Austin Wintory.

Here’s the video trailer of the game Journey, and my song below the videos.

Enjoy.

JOURNEY By Adam

The Magnificent Healing of Time by William Hamilton

It’s time to let go

It’s time to release the past

It’s time for me to be me again

And allow you to be you

Even though our paths are on different planes…

Free to run with the wind

For the wind is free and has nowhere to go but forward…

Music embraces me

It takes me on journeys beyond where I am…

Awareness helps me know everything will be all right

I’m not sure if I’m writing for you or me

We are one, connected on levels most folks don’t understand…

They understand the connection

But sometimes misunderstand the freedom we all share.

My friend creates music that transcend articulate description

Music not to be described, but only to be experienced

Because it reaches you

It embraces you

It teaches you

It leaves you wanting more

A talent beyond description…

While I listen to his music

I drift to places within where I find a sense of oneness

It’s a connection and a feeling of peace

From that place the words come not from me

But show up” like the spontaneous universal moments

Those special moments you’ve had before

And will have again…

Your journey and my journey are no different

We find ourselves enrolled in the School of Life

On the great campus of Planet Earth

Our experiences become our teachers

If we would only take the time to put down our phones

And take a look at our lives…

If you met my friend

If you would take the time to listen to the power

Of his music…you would know, see, understand and feel

How awesome his creativity really is…

Time, my friend is the magnificent healer

It helps me with the transition my wife began a month ago

It helps me fill the hole her memories left behind

It heals me to be able to live again

To laugh again and be myself again

To have so many awesome people in my life

And when you think about it

You are too…

This is the music that I listened to when writing the poems about Virginia’s passing. It takes me to a place of oneness and connection. Words don’t really do this music justice. It is very special to me.

I knew the sounds, the violin, the energy, was all about you Will.
Thank you for you contributions and sharing of your soul my friend.
Although there are few comments, hundreds were touched by your words.

I have loved this music since Adam first introduced it – well – when I first “met” him anyway – I love his composition, and I would love to get this game, but evidently, it cannot be gotten for a computer. I love your poem, Will — it takes me to memories of my own— thank you.

And thank you, Adam, for putting the Journey trailer here for us – I loved it then and I loved it now, and I love your version, too, and would love to be able to play the game, but evidently not possible for a computer. Oh well— what’s here s great!

Thank you Teddy. The game is really short, I’m sure you can watch the entire thing on youtube (someone playing it).

      Truly a life changing experience.

Your stories Adam, I think are the best of your creations. I get transported inside of them. There is breath and life there. I remember feeling this way about 20 years ago when I discovered a fascinating short story about invisible creatures by Ray Bradbury, except you don’t go to the aliens, you go straight into the heart.
