Perspective

Before you do anything else…

on

…change your reality.

There’s so much in life we believe we should have. (or deserve)

Perfect health.

A perfect career.

A perfect partner.

A perfect lifestyle.

The desire for these things leads us to much speculation, research, and questions.

Today I was reading a story on a website, where people ask questions ranging from “what’s the best thing for a 20 year old to do with $20”, to “how can I find my purpose if I’ve lost everything and just want to die?”

As profound (and brilliant) as some of the answers were, they all brought me back to that one point of myself and my own path.

So many questions, so little time.

So many books, information, directions, obstacles and of course, disbelief.

I leave this one for last, for it is the most important.

“If we cannot change our current reality, then we will never live within the glory of a new one.”

Throw that on a coffee cup.

So here I am, putting together things I believe you will want.

More music, more stories, more tools and resources for a better more efficient life.

I then move into the “business plan”, of how to make it all work so that A) you love the ideas and work, while finding them useful, and B) moving yourself into a place of self discovery, instead of constantly trying to reach an unreachable goal.

As I’m sitting here working on my second cup of coffee, it finally hits me.

If anyone is going to want to be a part of anything, it MUST be worth while.  And I mean, WORTH WHILE.

There is no plan without purpose, clarity, and MASSIVE direction.

It took me all but three seconds to realize what’s missing.

And I’ll say it again.

A new reality.

This is pretty amazing for the simple fact that it shows me my plans cannot be executed by the person I am now.

And that’s the point.

Creating a new reality, a “Second Self”, is one of the most enjoyable, powerful, and rewarding things we can do as human beings.

It’s about not being stuck anymore, not worrying anymore, and not judging ourselves anymore.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will move forward without that a reality to support its purpose.

Think about it.

How many times have you had an idea that was shot down?

How many times have you had a single person, one bad review, or someone’s false judgment derail you?

How many times have you left it all behind, because you were just so pissed, frustrated, and disappointed?

What if you not only knew you could get past these things, but didn’t even care about them in the first place?

What if there was a f#ck it pill you could take, that not only took the weight off your shoulders, but empowered you at the same time?

What if every day was a new, grand experience?  What if you finally threw out all of the emotional (and physical) trash in your life, and moved forward as a different person?

This is the glory of growth.

To know that we were nothing more than a piece of clay with a bit of genetic code, which can change, remolded, and fashioned into a new “self” at any given time.

If we do this work first, what comes next, will feel like entering a playground instead of a battlefield.

This is the power of a new reality.

And without it, nothing else will change.

A new reality… How do I create a new life out of the many bits and pieces I’ve seen in the lives around me that “look” desirable, from my own experiences in the many years of living (over 50 now), and so many things I’ve read about in the biographies of people I look up to as examples of the kind of person I would like to be or to do the kinds of things I aspire to do? How do I identify the traits or behaviors of this new person and design the new reality around that new person? And how do I balance this with being true to the person that I truly am deep inside… the person I haven’t really fully discovered myself yet because of all the pressures to be and do what others think should be my reality?

If I’m walking across a very rocky river with rocks that are slippery and tottering while I try to stand steady and avoid falling in, I can simply lift my feet and start to swim, but how do I know when and where to put them down again? Where do I start to believe?

Belief comes after the action, just like courage.
That’s the strange thing about our journeys.
The problem that lies within us, is the one that assumes an outcome before that action is taken.
Take the action, reflect on the result, and answers to questions never even asked, will come.
