Oculus Score

The following is the original Oculus Score (no voice) from the original MAS experience created during the private Oculus beta.

I’m sharing this for two reasons.

1. I wanted to give everyone something they could enjoy, for free. It’s not a full look into the actual experience, but it should be enough to be pleasurable, hopefully in a profound way.
2. This is just the beginning of Sanctum, and I feel it important to share the work, even if it’s not the project in its entirety. Read below to understand more.

Background for the audio.

Oculus is one of four parts of the upcoming Sanctum project. It contains a full (as of now) 30 page story. During the story, we follow a character named Mia and her experiences with the Oculus.

Here’s what you need to know to get the most out of the audio below.

The Oculus (ring) is inside a beautiful dome-like structure, atop an island within the landscape of Sanctum; a location within Tessera. As you enter the dome, you will hear the waves around the island, as well as the “whooshing” of the Oculus ring as it turns a crystal-like cloud within its center. As you enter the dome, the ring will begin to call to you. The closer you get, the more emotion (music and sound) will engage with you. Towards the end, you are to look “through” the Oculus. This will give you some insight into the full experience and, whatever you take from it, is yours to keep.

The full Sanctum experience will be available later this year.
