Music Song Saturdays

Voice of the Lost

on

I know I say this all the time, but this one is really special to me.  It took longer than expected, but was very much worth it.  It also has incredibly powerful orchestration combined with some new sounds I think will truly move you.

However, as good as the song is, it’s bitter sweet because it marks the end of the Song Saturdays, at least for now.

Over the last few months it’s just been too hard to keep up with the workload I’ve been at while continuing to write, work on technical stuff, and create EdenSync and the Little Red Recorder Series.

Hopefully these Saturdays won’t be missed too badly.  But don’t worry, I’ll continue to post content here on the site.

With that said, I humbly offer you Voice of the Lost, the seventh song from the upcoming album The Path.

With gratitude,
Adam

Woah… very strong and powerful, very dramatic! I’m listening after a rather long day filled with much pain but also filled with some really awesome relationship time with different friends. My first appreciation is for that strong beat that seemed to give this tired sore body a boost. I can’t help but notice the full section of cello… and maybe some bass fiddle?…I do love that cello! Very interesting use of voices, Adam. At the beginning it sounded as if…in my imagination…there is a gathering forming. I keep hearing a tremolo in a high pitch but can’t tell if by voice or instrument. It keeps catching my attention. I like it. The addition of piano and something that sounds… synthetic maybe?…. was an unexpected addition to the traditional strings and strong horns. I love when the male voices joined in… it is as if the army is made complete! The back and forth between voices… feels like the shouting between commanders on the same side during a battle. It could the playing out of my day or the images from the previous songs that make it seem like a battlefield to me..either way, I love this song. There is so much story in it!
    This is a great album!!

    Thank you!

Thank you Angela. Yes, I used some very interesting voices and effects for this one. And yes, there are entire cello sections, violins, and basses. I’ve been enjoying harmonizing the lead violin and horns (french sections) lately with this album. They give such power when they’re together!

Thank you so much Terri. This song is certainly part of an extended narrative within the album.
